API Semantic Maps and how they can help you manage coupling in your ecosystem
Overview
About this stream
Coupling is a hard concept to grasp. While various types of specialists deal with various types of it, in the field of Integration Architecture we deal with those that relate to system interoperability. In BridgingTheGap.eu.com we dive deeper into the topic through qualitative research, interviewing architects and studying various use cases. This sometimes leads us on unexpected paths.
One of these trails continued through the discussions and led to a more practical look on how we can tackle the problem! In this episode of Loosely Coupled: “Tackling complexity with Semantic Metadata”, instead of just talking about the concepts, we’ll be modelling our way through them, to build a semantic layer that visualizes dependencies between various models, API, services, or databases. To help us on this path we have invited Marty Pitt, an engineer and open source developer, who created Taxi - a language that can be used to describe how your data and services relate across your entire ecosystem, and TaxiQL - which leverages semantics to automate federated integration, keeping systems loosely coupled.
Join us and together we’ll grab a compass, take a walk through the tools, and create a semantic map that anyone can use to understand more about their landscape!
